Canterbury Produces Dawn Service Program

On behalf of the Anzac Dawn Service Trust Inc and to honour the 100th year of the Gallipoli Landing, Canterbury produced 20,000 copies of the commemorative Anzac Day Dawn Service ‘Order of Service’ booklets that were handed out at this year’s service at Martin Place.

Asides from the Order of Service, the booklet also lists the history behind the Gallipoli Landing as well as the founding of the original Sydney Dawn Service back in 1927.

The Anzac Day Dawn Service Trust was formed in 2000 when the aging representatives of the Australian Legion of Ex-Service Clubs received assistance from the National Servicemen’s Association NSW Branch to ensure the continuation of the Dawn Service tradition. The Trust is based at The Lakemba Club, which is one of the founding four clubs after the Great War.

“It was an honour to play a role in this year’s service – it is important that we show our respect by continuing to honour the men and women who sacrificed much while in service of this country,” said Dave Brace, CEO of Canterbury League Club.
