This year’s ANZAC Day Service attracted over 200 people to the front of The Lakemba Club at 7am for the march to the War Memorial at Lakemba Station to pay their respects to the ANZACs.

Congratulations Odile!

On Sunday 12 March a very big crowd gathered at The Lakemba Club for the draw of the $10,000 Electrical & Whitegoods promotion. Patrons had a chance to win a whole household package including a television, washing machine, dryer, coffee machine, an iPad, Xbox, and camera amongst other things.

One lucky winner was to win it all and that person was local resident, Odile Kazzi!

Lakemba RSL Sub-Branch Club opens to new members

Since the Lakemba RSL Sub-Branch Club was formed in 1940, it has been providing support to ex-servicemen and women of the Lakemba area, and now they are calling up for more new members to sign up.

The Sub-Branch Club is open to all former members of the Australian defence forces who have completed six months’ full time service as well as those who served within the reserve. The Club also accepts members from Allied forces into its midst.

CANTERBURY AMALGAMATES WITH PUNCHBOWL CLUB

Late last year Canterbury Members were asked to vote on the amalgamation of Canterbury Bankstown Tennis & Bowls Club located in Punchbowl.

Members voted for the amalgamation and in December 2016, Liquor and Gaming NSW approved the decision.

Providing homes for homeless veterans
