Who can play
To play in our tournaments players must hold the following annual memberships:
– Canterbury Chess Club membership
– Canterbury Bulldogs Leagues Club membership
– At least associate membership of the NSW Chess Association

Juniors
Juniors under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult and must be a member of either the NSWJCL (NSW Junior Chess League) or the NSWCA.

Lakemba Services Social Club

 

There are approximately 120 members of the Social Club and they participate in assisting the local community by encouraging participation in activities, particularly targeting the aged and vulnerable.

Membership to the Lakemba Services Social Club is open to anyone wanting to join up – it costs $5 to sign up and new members must also be members of Canterbury League Club. The Social Club hosts two functions each year as well as an annual group outing for its members to mingle with each other.

Lakemba RSL Sub-Branch

 

The role of the Lakemba RSL Sub-Branch is to provide support to ex-servicemen and women of the Lakemba area. The sub-branch meets every second Tuesday of the second month to discuss any updates or changes to government policies that affect veterans and exchange information that is useful for ex-service personnel needing help.

Aside from that, the Sub-Branch also hosts a number of official functions that commemorate veterans including Anzac Day, Anzac Sunday, and Remembrance Day.
