Moxon Open Day a great success
It was a beautiful sunny Sunday; the air permeated with the delicious smell of sausages and onions sizzling, and people everywhere enjoying the festive atmosphere that soaked the Moxon Sports Club Open Day.
Formerly the Canterbury Bankstown Tennis & Bowls Club, the new Moxon Sports Club was taken over by Canterbury League Club in 2016 and recently reopened as the new Moxon Sports Club following a more than $3million renovation.
Hundreds of locals attended the Open Day and enjoyed a range of free activities including a jumping castle, petting zoo, face painting, introductory tennis and lawn bowl lessons and live music provided by popular entertainer, Oscar Kami.
Bulldogs players Brett and Josh Morris, Josh Jackson, David Klemmer, Moses Mbye, Aaron Woods, Marcelo Montoya and Will Hopoate made an appearance and had a fun time trying to outdo each other on the tennis courts and lawn bowling. They also received a crash course on the art of pigeon racing before meeting their fans at a signing session.
“We were thrilled to invite the community to check out the new Moxon Sports Club” said Dave Brace, CEO of Canterbury League Club. “It was fantastic seeing how much people were enjoying the new club and we’re excited to be able to offer something new to our Members and the local Punchbowl community.”
