COMMEMORATING THE CENTENARY OF ANZAC
Posted on Monday, 27 April 2015
This year’s Anzac Day Dawn Service at The Lakemba Club was a special one, commemorating the 100 years since the Landing of Gallipolli.
Over 100 people gathered at the Club at 7am for the march to the Lakemba Cenotaph. The half-hour service was led by Father Gary Rawson of St Therese Church and Father Graeme Watkins of Uniting Church at Lakemba.
Members of the Lakemba Sub-Branch laid wreaths on behalf of the community followed by a minute’s silence to conclude the service. Members of the community were invited back to the Club for a free breakfast and lunch after the service.
