ANZAC DAY 2018: MARCH AND COMMEMORATION AT LAKEMBA

Posted on Thursday, 26 April 2018

CROWDS gathered at the Lakemba Cenotaph this morning for the annual Anzac Day march and commemoration service.

Participants in the march formed up outside the Lakemba Club at 7am before starting on the route at 7.15am.

Father Gary Rawson addressed the service, with a student from Holy Spirit Catholic College reciting the Ode.

A crowd of all ages and nationalities attended the service, with representatives of local schools, Canterbury Bankstown Council, the Lakemba Club and the Lakemba RSL Sub-branch all laying a wreath.

Once the service was over, participants were invited back to the Lakemba Club for breakfast.
