To kick off this year’s Christmas cheer, The Lakemba Club recently used a $500 community donation to host a seniors’ community morning tea at the start of December.
The $500 donation was kindly provided by Commonwealth Bank (Lakemba Branch) as part of CommBank Community Donation Program which recognises organisations that have had a positive impact and provided great support to their local community.
Commonwealth Bank Lakemba Branch Manager, Muhammed Genc. and Lending Manager, Vijay Pal, were on hand to present the $500 cheque to The Lakemba Club Venue Manager, Chris Taylor.
“We are truly humbled and grateful to have received this generous donation and be recognised for our great community work and the role we play in providing a place for the community to gather,” said Chris Taylor, The Lakemba Club Venue Manager.
“As a team, we decided to use the donation to give back again to our local community by hosting the seniors’ morning tea and it was a big success! We had roughly 43 people attend, and they all tucked into the food, tea and coffee. Everyone had a great and enjoyable time!”
