At the recent RSL & Services Clubs Association Annual Conference Dinner at the Grand Hyatt, Melbourne, Lakemba RSL Sub-Branch President Ann Garland OAM was recognised with a Spirit of ANZAC award for her incredible volunteer work and demonstration of loyalty and service to her club and local community.
Ann was nominated by the team at The Lakemba Club and she joined a pool of other nominees. An independent panel, consisting of club peers and RSL representatives, then judged the nominations and selected the winner.
“Congratulations to Ann for being recognised with this award. She has been a long-time member of the Lakemba Sub-Branch since 1963, and has been heavily involved ever since, keeping the strong traditions of returned servicemen and servicewomen alive through veteran events and causes,” said Peter Winchester, Chairman of Canterbury League Club.
